The food you eat first at a meal can affect how many calories you eat overall. At the same time, you can fasten your lose weight plan.

Picture this: it’s lunchtime, and you’re really, really hungry.  You woke up late, you skipped breakfast, and you’ve been going all morning without a chance to grab a snack. Then you spoiled your lose weight plan. When is time to eat, and you’re facing a buffet – some starchy foods, some proteins, and some veggies. You load up your plate, sit down, and raise your fork – anxious to dig in.  Now, imagine what happens next, as you stare down at your meat, your starch and your vegetables.  Which food do you Lose weight Low calories fooddive into first? It’s reflect how serious  your  lose weight plan.

Chances are good that you picked the starch – or maybe the protein – but probably not the vegetables.  While it’s been known for some time that people tend to eat more when they get overly hungry, no one had – until recently – ever really paid attention to what foods people choose after a long stretch without eating.  But a new study¹aimed to do just that – find out what really hungry people eat first – and what they eat the most of – after 18 hours without food.

You might expect that those who hadn’t eaten for 18 hours would help themselves to larger portions from the buffet than those who didn’t – and you’d be right.  But the other noticeable thing was this – compared with those who hadn’t skipped a meal, the meal skippers also ate the higher calorie items on their plates first.  And, they also ate more of the food that they chose to eat first – nearly 50% more than those who didn’t fast.  In other words, those who went too long without eating took in a lot more calories not only because they took too much food to start with, but also because they filled up on the highest calorie foods first. Then lose weight plan failed.

Now, you might be thinking – so what?  If I’m going to eat the whole plate of food anyway, what difference does it make if  I eat my noodles before my broccoli?  Good point.  But here’s the thing:  you might not eat the whole plate of food if you eat the lowest calorie food first.  As you fill up on the low calorie broccoli, you might end up eating fewer of the high calorie noodles – and fewer calories for your meal overall. Then you can lose weight.

Here is the list of low calories foods can help you lose weight fast :

  • Oats  are filling, which makes it hard to believe that they can help you lose weight.

But eating a portion in the morning for breakfast as part pf a low-calorie diet is a great way to provide your body with slow-release, natural energy throughout the day, which keeps you feeling fuller for longer and can even lower your cholesterol.

  • Olive Oil - Mad but true – fat can help you to lose weight.

Poly unsaturated fats like those found in olive oil can stave off hunger pains, while olive oil itself contains a naturally-occurring chemical called oleic acid, which aids the breakdown of excess fats in the body.

  • Tomatoes - Delicious, full of antioxidants, and they help you to lose weight?

Tomatoes are definitely among our favourite fat-fighting foods. Tomatoes have been found to reduce inflammation and water retention in the body, as well as reversing leptin resistance. Leptin is a type of protein which helps to regulate metabolic rate and appetite, so our bodies rely on it to shed those extra pounds.

  • Asparagus is traditionally known as a detoxifying food because it contains high levels of an amino acid that acts as a diuretic, flushing excess fluid out of your system. It also helps speed the metabolism of alcohol and other toxins (it’s a suprising hangover remedy).
  • Bananas - Contrary to what some people believe, bananas contribute to lose weight NOT gain.Eating a banana is not just a great way to provide your body with skin-healing zinc, brain-powering slow release energy and filling fibre, but can also help you to relieve water retention thanks to the high levels of potassium they contain.
  • Peanuts get a bad rep in the lose weight plan, but eating a small handful as a snack in between meals could stop you from overeating, and give you the protein you need to carve a lean, flat stomach. Peanuts are rich in omega 3 fatty acids and fibre, as well as skin-conditioning vitamin E.
  • Broccoli is amazingly low in calories, but it always makes our list of the top superfoods for a reason. Not only is it packed with fibers, vitamins, and minerals, it contains powerful antioxidants that may improve your odds of breast cancer survival and reduce the risk of colon cancer.
  • Cabbage - Crunchy, sweet, and affordable! How can a food that is so humble, with so few calories, be so incredibly good for you? Cabbage packs vitamins, minerals, fibers, and several phytonutrients thought to prevent cancer. Glucosinolate is a metabolic detoxifier and sulphoraphane is a powerful anti-carcinogenic.
  • Lettuce - You can literally eat pounds of any variety of lettuce and never gain an ounce. Romaine lettuce alone is a great source of B vitamins, folic acid, and manganese, which helps regulate blood sugar and is essential for proper immune system function.
  • Cauliflower - Like other cruciferous veggies, cauliflower is full of cancer-fighting phytonutrients and is a great source of vitamin C and folate. Nibble on raw or lightly steamed florets to maximize cauliflower’s nutritional power. Cauliflower is one of the top superfoods, that may improve your odds for breast cancer survival.
  • Zucchini - This miracle squash is the ultimate high volume food, meaning you can fill up on very few calories. It’s easy to grow, especially in the summer, packs lots of vitamin A, and is so simple to prepare raw or cook with you may want to eat it all year!
  • Garlic fights colds, battles cancer, and may even ward off urinary tract infections. A diet rich in garlic can help thanks to the bulb’s natural antimicrobial properties。
  • Pumpkin - This low-calorie squash is rich in potassium and loaded with beta-carotene (a powerful antioxidant), and its natural sweetness brings flavor to baked goods without any added guilt. It’s a great source of vitamins A, C, and E, and packs potassium (great for lowering blood pressure) and copper.
  • Carrot are very low in saturated fat and cholesterol. It is also a good source of thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate and manganese, and a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium.

Top Five Myths to lose weight fast and Body Fat

by herbalife independant distributor on February 4, 2013

in Herbalife

For all the time we spend thinking about how to lose weight fast, body fat is probably one of the most misunderstood tissues in the human body.  We pinch and pull at it, wishing it would just go away, as if it were just some extra unnecessary ‘stuff’ that serves little purpose -other than to act as a reminder that we’re out of shape or eating too much. With so few people having a clear understanding of what body fat actually is, why they even have it in the first place, and what they can (and can’t) do to get rid of it and lose weigh fast – it’s time to bust a few myths about body fat and weight lose.

Lose weight fast

Lose weight fast

Lose weight fast myth 1:  If you don’t exercise, your muscle will turn to fat.

It certainly seems that way – you stop exercising for a while, and pretty soon your taut and toned muscles start to feel like foam rubber.  Strength training doesbuild and repair muscle and helps is losing weight fast, so when you quit working out, your muscle fibers do shrink.  And, you can start to store little bits of fat in between the muscle fibers – so you definitely feel a lot softer.  But muscle and fat cells aren’t interchangeable.  Just as you can’t turn a bone cell into a nerve cell, or a red blood cell into skin cell, muscle tissue can’t ‘turn into’ fat.

Lose weight fast myth 2:  You can target where you want to lose your body fat.

Spot-reducing – trying to get rid of fat in just one part of the body – simply doesn’t happen.  Yes, if you do a lot of exercise that targets the abdominal muscles or the legs, you’ll tone the muscles underneath – and that will make you look slimmer and you look like you lose weight fast.  But when you lose body fat, you lose it pretty much uniformly.  If you start out heavy and curvy and then lose weight, you’ll still have curves.  And if you’re built more ‘straight up and down’ -without much of a waistline – you won’t suddenly get one, no matter how many situps you do.  When you lose body fat, your silhouette will be more or less the same.  Only smaller.

Lose weight fast myth 3:  Fat cells are just a place to store fat.

Up until relatively recently, it was generally thought that fat cells were pretty much just bags of fat – a place to stockpile excess calories.  Far from it.  Fat cells are now known to produce a number of hormones – chemical messengers that are released into the bloodstream, sending signals to other parts of the body that can have far-ranging effects on health.  And it doesn’t just sit there – fat is constantly moving in and out of cells depending on what the body needs.

Lose weight fast myth 4:  You should try to get your body fat as low as possible.

While it is certainly true that having excess body fat can put your health at risk and its good to lose weight, you do need to have some.  As much as body fat is something we ‘love to hate’, it does serve some important functions.  In addition to producing vital hormones, fat stores fat-soluble vitamins, provides insulation from heat and cold, and provides padding around vital organs and even the soles of the feet.  Healthy body fat levels are around 15% for men and 22% for women.

Lose weight fast myth 5:  Fat weighs less than muscle.

You hear this all the time, but technically it’s not correct.  A pound is a pound – whether it’s a pound of fat, a pound of muscle or a pound of feathers.  It’s more correct to say that fat is less dense than muscle – which means that a pound of fat takes up more space in the body than a pound of muscle. That’s why people who are really muscular often weigh more than you might think – their bodies are densely packed with a lot of muscle weight crammed into a small volume.
